Counseling
Individual counseling with children and adolescents using a blend of evidence-based techniques to best meet individual needs. I believe building a safe and trusting relationship is the core for successful counseling, and once established, incorporating skills to express and manage emotions and stress. I believe the mind-body connection plays an important role in mental health and I utilize approaches such as mindfulness, relaxation techniques, exercise and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) in order to promote emotion regulation, stress management and overall mental wellness.
Psychological Evaluations
Psychoeducational evaluations and gifted assessments for children aged 3-21. Psychoeducational evaluations determine whether a student meets criteria for a particular diagnosis, such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, emotional disabilities such as anxiety and depression, learning disabilities (including dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia), developmental delays, or intellectual disability. A psychoeducational evaluation may include assessments of intelligence/cognitive skills, academic skills, memory, attention, executive functioning, social skills, and/or emotional functioning, a review of educational and medical records, parent, teacher, and student interviews, a written report, feedback session, and school collaboration.
Special Education Consultation
Navigating the special education process can be overwhelming. My goal is to provide support, guidance, and consultation in order to make this process feel less daunting. Consultation can include reviewing educational and medical records, including school-based evaluations, guidance through the Special Education/IEP or Section 504 processes and/or collaborating with schools with a supportive, problem-solving approach to best meet the needs of your child.
Payment Policy
Fees for counseling and consultation services are due at the time of service. Evaluation fees are due in two installments, 50% at time of first evaluation appointment and the remaining 50% at time of the review meeting. All services are conducted through private pay; insurance is not accepted at this time. Payments are accepted via cash, check, or Venmo.
